The announcement of winner (loser) of the William Higinbotham Inhumanitarian of the Year Award has been delayed until Monday, April 18. The Higgy and taxes are due at the same time and both are being extended due to the observance of Holy Week and Passover holidays.

Last month he announced new proposed regulations that many of us believe would effectively destroy growth in the charter public school movement. I checked with leaders of 10 Blue Ribbon Charter Schools in California, Minnesota, Missouri and Nevada to see if USDE had asked any of them for advice about how to make progress toward the Congressional goal of producing more high quality charter public schools. None of the directors had been asked.
IMHO, this qualifies Cardona for an award that recognizes Disservice to the public.
