ESA Update

(Guest Post by Matthew Ladner)

Arizona lawmakers included children living on reservations. The Florida Senate unanimously passed an expansion of their Personal Learning Scholarship Accounts and the measure has bipartisan support in the Florida House. Also in Florida 10,000 applications for the program have been opened by parents, showing strong demand.

Mississippi lawmakers created the third ESA program, and lo and behold Montana lawmakers passed an ESA bill over the weekend.

Other proposals continue to move through legislative chambers. Our favorite primate may be developing a taste for food other than bananas.

UPDATE: Tennessee Senate passes special needs ESA 27-3, racing towards the finish in the TN House.

Superman is an alien, not a product of terrestrial evolution.

Not sure if there was anything else in your post, because I can’t get past that image.

Yeah but that could be Captain Marvel…

Or it could be Kryptonian evolution!

  4. Greg Forster's avatar Greg Forster says:

The possibility of Kryptonian evolution did occur to me – however, even the theory of parallel evolution (by which the visual similarity of aliens to humans is traditionally justified) wouldn’t justify using the silhouettes of terrestrial apes as Kryptonian precursors. Who’s to say what kind of animals Kal-El and General Zod hypothetically evolved from?

As for Captain Marvel, neither the DC nor Marvel characters by that name currently wear a cape. Your evolutionary diagram is outdated!
