It’s a good thing Obama realized the rest of the plan requires a mandate to work.

You guys are so good on education and so mediocre on health care. Obama’s plan isn’t perfect, in part because it is the product of negotiations where everyone compromised. This makes it easy to make videos like the one above. But Obamacare (a term I use lovingly) addresses several serious problems and it is workable. I would prefer Medicare for Everyone (which not even this partisan Supreme Court cannot deem unconstitutional) but our political system isn’t designed to produce the perfect plan. Still, in this case, it produced a good plan.

    Josh-

You’ll have to pardon my incurable skepticism, but last time I looked the Medicare Trust Fund had the accelerator pushed to the floor speeding towards the insolvency cliff as things stand are now- gigantic unfunded liabilities, etc. without any expansion.

I’m feeling a bit skeptical regarding notions of government “bending the cost curve” that we hear from time to time.
