Wait a minute… Were those actual union members from the garment industry or members of the actors union posing as garment union members? If the latter, superlative work indeed.
The ad looks like a trip down memory lane judging from some of the guys. Looks like about mid-80s or somewhat earlier what with droopy ‘staches, turtlenecks and ‘fros.
Missed the necktie right at the beginning of the song. It’s a beauty.
Since the performers were so obviously not professional entertainment types I wonder if Actor’s Equity was upset with scabs stealing jobs from dues-paying union workers?
My wife and I have determined that the entertainment payout from this clip could be endless. Beyond the irony of one union supplanting another to produce it (it’s not the garment worker job description?) the line “This is no import” is rich when sporting a name beginning with “International.”
Interestingly, the two people actually possessing fluid coordination seem to have intentionally been deprived a prominent camera shot rather than showcased. Of course, this would be consistent with union philosophy, wherein uniformity of awkwardness hopefully masks mediocrity. Both at the 0:43 mark, the lone attractive female on the middle row and Dennis Rodman on the bottom.
Wow! That is fantastic!

If only people understood the Law of Comparative Advantage.
Wait a minute, is that Weird Al Yankovich at the 0:34 mark?
I think so, Hammy.
Great seeing you over Columbia-Mex yesterday.
