I am not sure if is parodying Progressive Ed as much as it is making fun of most of us middle-class parents!
That is a really clever skit. It makes me long for the good old days, where my parents made it clear that “children are to be seen and not heard.” Then, I was quite aware that most things I said were silly and not useful and I believed I had little to offer society! (perhaps somewhere in the middle is the right place …)
