As Hal pointed out, this is a day to emphasize our national unity. So we need to be sure to give credit to President Obama, who had the resolve to continue the effort begun by his predecessor and to carry it to a successful conclusion. Of course, there is still much to be done, but let us cheer this important victory.

Thank you for this post. I agree that the elimination of Osama Bin Laden is a victory for all Americans plus all who value freedom around the world.
I agree- I think my previous post can be read to contain implied criticism of both parties, but really we ought to be celebrating a huge national victory which is a credit to both the previous and the current administration, our armed forces and our intelligence agencies.
