Georgia High Schools are finding out the consequences of all of this social promotion...especially in Math. Currently, most of the 9th graders are failing Math 1. Many schools are reporting that 80% to 90% of their 9th graders are failing. This directly correlates to the number of kids that failed the math portion of the CRCT last year. They were promoted anyway. Trust me; they were not promoted because they were great students and just tested poorly. They were promoted because the middle schools don't want to deal with them!
